Early on Monday, August 11th, over 100 well-dressed individuals descended upon PMU for Krannert Launch, the beginning of our journey towards obtaining a master’s degree. I was experiencing many different emotions as I walked through the door. Was I nervous, excited, or somewhere in-between? I didn’t know how I was feeling, but I knew that I was ready.
Eager new faces of my classmates greeted me. For the next two weeks, we were all immersed in a whirlwind of activities to help prepare us for the next two years of business school. Days ranged from sitting through informational sessions about the different resources available to us to the Purdue Amazing Race, where we were sent across campus to complete various tasks.
Many of my experience thus far have felt like trial by fire, and I couldn’t imagine it any other way. During Krannert Launch we had the opportunity to experience a Mock Case Competition and a Mock Career Fair. I found both of these events to be very helpful, as we received feedback from the second-year students who serve as mentors to the incoming class.
Although we’ve only been together for a month, it is obvious that the diverse group crafted by the Admissions Team shares the same passion for learning. We have formed friendships that will help carry us through the classes of first module and beyond. There have already been many spur of the moment bonding experiences outside the classroom that have helped ease my transition into grad school. I couldn’t think of a better group of people to spend these next two years with. I’m excited to see what the newest Krannert MBA and MSHRM candidates can do!
