Before coming to Purdue, Bella studied as an English Translation major at Hunan University, China. After getting her bachelor’s degree, she worked in sales, where she learned about dealing with people and everyday sale optimization. Through her work experience, she came to recognize the gap between the demand and the supply of data related to support for small businesses. This is what prompted her to think about a career change.
Bella had been looking for an area of study that would expand on her practical understanding of business, while equipping her with the most up-to-date tools to conduct data analysis. She read about the trend of doing business with technical skills and tools, and that was when she decided to study business analytics.
Bella has a strong desire of strengthening her analytical skills by taking courses in Python, R language, data mining and information management at the Krannert School of Management. She looks forward to being a consultant in a major consulting company.
