Accounting
is the process of identifying and measuring relevant
financial information and communicating it to decision
makers inside and outside the firm.
One of the
major missions of Krannert's Accounting Area is to aid the
accounting profession by providing undergraduate and
graduate students with a solid foundation in financial,
managerial and tax accounting as well as auditing.
Our students are particularly well-suited to careers
in corporate accounting and consulting,
although some enter the field of public accounting as well.
The
Accounting Area is also committed to Purdue’s mission of
creating and disseminating knowledge.
Our faculty members publish their research in
respected academic journals and often present papers at
national conferences. We
have an active workshop and invite scholars from other
universities to present their research and interact with our
faculty and Ph.D. students.
