Course Description:
Our objective is not to know everything that is going on the Internet at this point in time, but to learn how to determine its potential as a resource for your firm. The goal is to develop an awareness and understanding of the relevant issues, advantages and disadvantages, and specific techniques involved in using the Internet to assist in the production and marketing of goods and services and providing service to our stakeholders. As a result of our work together you will:

  • see how the Internet can be helpful in the development, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of your products and/or services,
  • understand how the Internet can be used to provide better service to your stakeholders; customers, suppliers, owners, employees, etc,
  • learn about the different capabilities of the Internet and how it can be used to redesign your business practices,
  • learn how to determine whether this new resource can be used to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your organization,
  • learn how the Internet works, what it can and can not do well, security, etc., from a technical perspective,
  • gain hands on experience developing Internet-based business.
