Instructors:  Mr. Alex Zelikovsky and Professor Ananth Iyer

Course Description:
The course focuses on the logistics aspects of e-commerce. Most goods bought on the internet are not available immediately to the customer to use and experience. Thus logistics plays a significant role in the value proposition of an e-commerce company. Delivery of the product to the customer at or before the promised date, high fill rate for a large selection of products and the agility to respond to changing product offerings all provide significant challenges to the logistics function of an e-commerce company. The course focuses on the tasks faced by a Chief Logistics Officer (CLO) of an e-commerce company and discusses strategic issues, tactical choices and operational details. Speakers from the logistics segment of the e-commerce industry will discuss current issues and lead student discussions. Cases, assignments and projects involving the analysis of logistics capabilities of e-commerce companies will provide currency to the course material.
