Purdue Bell Tower

The Purdue Bell Tower was funded by the Class of 1948 and stands 160 feet tall next to Sinninger Pond in the "Special Place Garden," a gift from the class of 1949. Completed in 1995, the brick-clad tower was inspired by the original Heavilon Hall bell tower, which was demolished in 1956. Today's Bell Tower holds the restored clockworks and original bells from the Heavilon tower and chimes away as one of Purdue's most notable landmarks.

Stephen G. Green

Basil S. Turner Distinguished Professor of Management

"Working with our PhD students is one of the most rewarding things I do as a professor.  Research projects with students and colleagues in OBHR and I/O Psychology challenge and enrich me and, I hope, our students. I have no doubt that if a student wants to compete at the highest levels of academia, he or she can do that with the education they receive at Purdue."

"I believe our program has many strengths including the faculty-to-student ratio (you will not get lost here), well-trained and published faculty, ability to place students in their preferred job, and a strong relationship with the I/O psychology department.  Most importantly, we pride ourselves in creating a supportive and positive learning environment that students strive in (just ask out students!)."

Deidra Schleicher

Associate Professor of Management

University Faculty Scholar (2008-2013)

Associate Editor, Journal of Management

"Pound for pound, I think our PhD program in OBHR is as good as any in the country, and better than most.  The combination of a large number of faculty who are productive and active researchers with a collaborative, friendly, non-competitive environment simply can't be beat.  In addition, I think we do a great job of preparing our PhD students for careers they want; we've recently placed students at top research universities, but also at more teaching-research balanced schools and in international locations."
