Daniels School of Business students can make the most of their academic experience by adding a minor or minors. Enhance your plan of study, skill set, and career prospects, all without adding to your time as an undergraduate business school student.

Accounting Minor

All Purdue students may choose to minor in Accounting, except those majoring in Accounting. The Accounting Minor requires 15 credit hours and includes courses in Business Accounting and Management Accounting. Learn the language of business!

Behavioral Economics Minor

Studying behavioral economics is a critical component of analyzing human behavior and developing a holistic understanding of business and society. The 15-credit behavioral economics minor equips students interested in business, psychology, public policy, and other social sciences with the necessary tools to deepen their understanding of human decision-making and its implications for society. Students may earn only one of four econ minors: the Business Economics Minor, the Behavioral Economics Minor, the Economics Minor, or the Mathematical Economics Minor.

Business Economics Minor

Our Business Economics Minor is open to all Purdue students, except those majoring in Economics. The minor's 15 credits tackle microeconomics, macroeconomics, managerial economics and more. Students may earn only one of four econ minors: the Business Economics Minor, the Behavioral Economics Minor, the Economics Minor, or the Mathematical Economics Minor.

Economics Minor

All Purdue students may choose to minor in Economics (except Econ majors). Complete 15 credit hours from the Economics minor plan of study, which features the Economics of Sports, Antitrust and Regulation, Labor Economics, and more. Students may earn only one of four econ minors: the Business Economics Minor, the Behavioral Economics Minor, the Economics Minor, or the Mathematical Economics Minor.

Finance Minor

Finance is a critical component of organizations and is essential to establishing a well-rounded business perspective. The 15-credit finance minor offers an opportunity for students interested in investment management, investment banking, private equity and venture capital, and management or tech consulting to learn the skills necessary to succeed in these fields. The Finance minor is available to all Purdue students except those majoring in Finance.

Human Resource Management (HRM) Minor

All Purdue students may choose to minor in Human Resource Management. This minor requires you to successfully complete 15 credit hours in courses like Introduction to Organizational Behavior, Leadership in a Changing World, Talent Management and more. 

Management Minor

If you are a non-business school student, or an Economics major, you may choose to minor in Management. This requires you to successfully complete 18 credit hours from the minor's plan of study. Learn business accounting, microeconomics, financial management and more!

Mathematical Economics Minor

All Purdue students may choose to minor in Mathematical Economics (except Econ majors). The minor's 15 credit hours teach students to apply mathematical methods to analyze economic problems and evaluate public policies. Students may earn only one of three econ minors: the Business Economics Minor, the Economics Minor, or the Mathematical Economics Minor.

Real Estate Minor

The Real Estate Minor helps students in non-business majors acquire basic knowledge in business and economics, and develop in-depth knowledge in real estate issues and practices. It allows students to broaden or enhance their knowledge of their major field and create a unique skill set for specialized real estate-related careers. The minor requires 18 credit hours. 

Real Estate Finance Minor

The Real Estate Finance Minor allows students in business-related majors to develop in-depth knowledge of theory and practices in real estate and strengthen their leadership skills to pursue careers in real estate planning and development, investment banking, real estate valuations, asset management, and related areas. This minor requires 18 credit hours.

Certificates

Certificates are similar to minors in that they allow students to enrich a particular skill set. They are offered by schools across campus, and are often open to students from any major. Daniels School students benefit from certificates like Applications in Data Science and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
