Juergen Grossmann is the sole owner of steel producer Georgsmarienhuette Holding GmbH, where he has also served as Managing Partner and Managing Director. From October 2007 to June 2012, he served as Chief Executive Officer for the electric and gas company RWE AG in Germany, the #1 power producer in that country.
Dr. Grossmann studied in Germany and Brazil before earning a Master of Science in Industrial Administration degree from Purdue's Krannert School of Management. He received an Honorary Doctorate from Purdue in 2000. Prior to joining Georgsmarienhuette, he held various positions within the Klockner-Werke Group.
He is a member of various supervisory boards, including Deutsche Bahn AG, JPMorgan Chase International Council and Hanover Acceptances Limited in London.
In 2011, Dr. Grossmann received the Karmarsch Medal at Leibniz University, given "for personalities with outstanding services to technology and the economy." He was instrumental in the 1999 launch of the GISMA Business School in Germany, which rates among Europe's top business schools.
