GMNA Labor Relations - Vice President
Scott Sandefur was appointed General Motors North America Labor Relations - Vice President in June 2017. He previously was Executive Director, NA Labor Relations, a position he held since 2015.
Mr. Sandefur joined GM as a salaried employee in-training in June 1986 for the Automotive Components Group. In April 1994, he was named general supervisor Labor Relations at Delphi Packard. In February 1998, he was named plant personnel director at GM Powertrain Saginaw, Michigan, and he was named personnel director for GMTG Arlington, Texas, in December 1999.
Mr. Sandefur was named director Labor Relations-Vehicle Manufacturing in Pontiac, Michigan, in January 2001. In January 2004, he joined GM Holden LTD in Melbourne, Australia, as HR director, employee relations and subsequently became the Executive Director, HR for GM Holden LTD in 2006. In 2009, he repatriated to the United States to become General Director, NA Labor Relations.
Mr. Sandefur received a bachelor's degree in Management and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Relations, both from Purdue University.He serves on the board of directors for Focus Hope and the SE Michigan Boys and Girls Club.
