RESEARCH ASSISTANTS

  • The Vernon Smith Experimental Economics Laboratory provides research opportunities and experiences for undergraduate Purdue students. The contribution of these research assistants is extremely valuable. We are always seeking motivated undergraduate volunteer students to assist with research in the experimental economics laboratory.

  • Research assistants are different from student subject participants, and they gain experience with a variety of research activities. They help run the experiments and recruit participants campus-wide. An interest in behavioral research is essential and previous experience is a plus but is not necessary.

  • These are volunteer positions and do not offer financial compensation. Research assistants are expected to commit 3 to 8 hours per week, with considerable variance across the semester.

  • Anyone interested in volunteering in the Vernon Smith Experimental Economics Laboratory can contact the lab director, Professor Tim Cason at cason@purdue.edu.
