The Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program has produced highly successful business and community leaders since 1968. Without the support of generous corporate sponsorship, over 1,000 alumni would never have achieved their dream of launching a career in business. As the first diversity program on the campus of Purdue University, and one of the first and most successful at a major business school, corporations have found major success and high returns on their investments in BOP for many years. BOP seeks to foster new corporate relationships, and further develop established ones, to continue this trend of success for all constituents in the future.
With your support, BOP can continue to fullfil its mission of launching the next wave of business and community leaders through:
Recruiting leaders, competitors, and the best students motivated to succeed in business
Re-tooling students with business skills, abilities, and the foundations of business and management
Releasing students into community and corporate leadership worldwide
Sponsoring the Dr. Cornell A. Bell Business Opportunity Program includes the following, in addition to other special events:
As a partner of the Business Opportunity Program, there are opportunities to speak to students in a classroom setting.
Financial support is necessary to ensure a Krannert degree is in reach for students.
In the early 1970′s, BOP students founded the Society of Minority Managers (SMM) undergraduate student organization. Most BOP students join SMM, and each fall they host a corporate networking reception for corporate partners and others that wish to participate.
THE DR. CORNELL A. BELL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
SMM organizes the BOP Leadership Conference to simultaneously remember Dr. Bell and honor his legacy, and to bring high-profile speakers and workshops to minority students campus-wide.
UNDERGRADUATE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM SUMMER SESSION
The undergraduate summer session sets the foundation for students’ academic careers at Krannert. The summer session allows students to acclimate to the rigor of Krannert. Upon graduation, the summer session, undergraduate program, and the Krannert curriculum combined make BOP students great hires.
