Thomas J. Ward joined Air Products in 1981 as a development engineer for applied research and development. He subsequently held a variety of positions in product management and global marketing, as well as general management within the company’s gases businesses. Ward was named business director of SAP in 2001, during which time he oversaw the first four releases of SAP, and assumed his current position in July 2004. Ward is responsible for Continuous Improvement, Process Management, Knowledge Management, Supply Chain Master Data and Supply Chain Planning. 

Ward was born in 1959 in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. He received a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering in 1981 and an M.B.A. in 1986 from Lehigh University.
