Scott Brown

Katz, Sapper & Miller Certified Public Accountants

Partner 

Scott started his career in public accounting in 1987 and joined Katz, Sapper & Miller in 1990.  He was named partner in January 2001  Scott advises clients in a wide variety of accounting, tax and business matters, including those related to mergers and acquisitions and  succession planning.  He is the partner-in-charge of the firm’s Manufacturing and Distribution Services Group, and he serves on various marketing and management committees.

Scott is a founding member of the Logistics Council Executive Committee of Conexus Indiana, the state’s advanced manufacturing and logistics initiative.  Scott is also Vice President of the CPA Manufacturing Services Association, a nationwide network of independent accounting firms specializing in providing superior financial, tax and consulting services to manufacturers. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society and the Indiana Manufacturers Association.

Scott is an alumnus of the Class XXIX of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, where he was one of 25 people selected to participate in an intensive year-long program designed to help top business leaders become top community leaders. Scott has also had the honor of being selected by the Indianapolis Business Journal for inclusion in its “Forty Under 40” special report.  

Scott is the Treasurer of J.T.’s Hand Foundation: A Neonatal Fund and serves on the Advisory Board of the Circle City Foundation.  Scott also serves on the Planned Giving Committee of the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana.    

Scott graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Ball State University.
