Spring 2010 Conference - Powering the Global Supply Chain
As renewable energy policy hits center stage with recent news of $3.4 billion dollars in government support, many are wondering how this emerging “clean energy economy” will unfold. What will this surge in funding mean to the alternative energy sector, and equally important – how will those changes impact more traditional industries and the customers they serve? The Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises and the Global Supply Chain Management Initiative hopes to help create a climate of curiosity as we share with conference participants the issues and best practices across industries and around the world.
On Friday, February 12, 2010, industry leaders, researchers, field practitioners and students will gather to exchange perspectives on the conference theme, “Powering the Global Supply Chain.” Keynote speaker Peter J. Walters, Vice President Purchasing & Distribution, will offer a unique perspective on how Saint-Gobain Containers is supplying solutions to the major challenges of energy savings and protecting the environment.
The event is hosted by the Global Supply Chain Management Initiative (GSCMI), an operations and supply chain education, research and outreach Center within the Krannert School of Management, and co-hosted through support from Purdue’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).
We would like to thank the generous sponsorship of our friends and industry sponsors for helping us make this annual event possible. With their financial assistance, we are able to provide monetary prizes for our wonderful group of students who have entered the 2010 MBA case competition.
