2011 Fall Conference - Revisiting Onshoring
Click here to read a short article about the conference!
Entitled “Revisiting Onshoring”, this annual event brought together industry, faculty, and both undergraduate and graduate students from the school of management, to revisit the old debate about onshoring operations. Attendees shared best practices, discussed existing business challenges and illuminated the current issues that their firms face as they re-evaluate the pros and cons of production, services or operations located in the U.S.
Highlights of the conference featured guest speakers from a wide variety of industries including automotive, commodities, and service operations.
The hallmark student event that helps kick off the fall recruiting season was the exciting student summer internship poster competition. This lively event involved a "speed dating" format with students sharing their summer work experience with rotating groups of industry attendees who served as competition judges.
As always, we would like to thank the generous sponsorship of our friends and industry partners for helping us make this annual event possible. With their financial assistance, we're able to provide monetary prizes for our wonderful group of students who enter the 2011 internship poster competition.
