 Krannert’s Experiential Learning Initiative (ELI)

Welcome to Krannert’s Experiential Learning Initiative (ELI)! This is an exciting and mutually beneficial opportunity for Krannert’s Corporate Partners and the Master’s Program in Business Administration to enhance the learning experience for our students.

Become an Executive Advisor

Another way to participate in Krannert’s Experiential Learning Initiative is as an Executive Advisor. Working with one of our student teams in an advisory role is an invigorating and personally rewarding experience. Our students greatly appreciate the opportunity to interact with experienced executives and senior managers. Those that have been in the role of advisor to a student project team can attest to the stimulation of working with our bright and enthusiastic young men and women. If you are interested, please contact us.

The overall objective of ELI is to provide opportunities for our students to combine prior knowledge and experience with classroom learning and apply it in an active business setting. The cornerstone of the initiative is our ‘Management Projects’ course. Offered every semester starting in January 2010, this course will involve faculty supported teams of 4-6 students each working on a client project. As a Corporate Partner for an ELI project you benefit in two ways. Firstly, you contribute to the development of our next generation of business leaders. Secondly, you get the benefit of bright and enthusiastic minds focused on issues important to the success of your organization.

We hope that you will consider providing a project opportunity for our students. We are looking for projects that are important to your business, as evidenced by senior executive sponsorship and the commitment of personnel time and organizational resources to support the student team. However, we only ask you to cover the out-of-pocket expenses associated with the project. If the scope or timing of your project does not fit with our semester-based course, we can simply communicate your project to our students on our internal website and they can organize a student team, secure a faculty and/or executive advisor and submit a proposal directly to you.

If you have any questions regarding Krannert’s Experiential Learning Initiative or need assistance in scoping out a project, please do not hesitate to contact us.
