Purdue Collegiate Sales Traveling Team

The Purdue Center for Professional Selling Center is accepting applications for Purdue undergraduate students interested in competing in role play, case, and speed selling competitions against other collegiate teams from around the US. Benefits from participating on the sales team include building your sales skills, meeting other collegiate sales team members from around the country, meeting recruiters from around the country - many of whom do not recruit from Purdue, and making great friendships.

    • IU, Bloomington, IN; October TBA
    • Florida State University, Orlando, FL; November 1 - 4
    • RBI National Sales Challenge, William Patterson University, Wayne, NJ; November 15 - 17
    • University of Toledo Invitational, Toledo, OH; Spring TBA
    • National Collegiate Competition, Kennesaw, GA; Spring TBA

  • About the Application

    The Purdue Collegiate Sales Team is a team comprised of Purdue undergraduate students interested in competing in role play, case, and speed selling competitions against other collegiate teams from around the US. Benefits from participating on the sales team include building your sales skills, meeting other collegiate sales team members from around the country, meeting recruiters from around the country - many of whom do not recruit from Purdue, and making great friendships.  Oh, and you also get 1 CR/semester

    The team is sponsored and coached under the direction of the Purdue University Center for Professional Selling. Being a part of the team is a significant commitment in time and time away from class on occasion.  Prospective team members should understand the time commitment required to do well at a competition:

    • Weekly meetings (currently scheduled Wednesday morning, 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.);
    • Regular participation in Center sales competitions;
    • Minimum of 5 hours of personal time spent on researching the product of the competition;
    • 20 hours of personal practice for each competition you are selected to attend;
    • Minimum of 15 hours of coached practice with the traveling coach and other coaches are assigned;
    • Willingness to travel (by car or air) and be a part of a team.

    Applicants should be Purdue students with graduation dates of May, 2018 or later.

    Qualified applicants will be interviewed.
