Research Consortia Research work will span across three major consortia, primarily funded by corporate sponsors. The center will seek sponsorship for each consortium from related industry players. Intellectual property conceived within the consortium structure will be tested and refined in the embedded SEAS test bed.

The three major research areas are as follows:

Technology Integration Test Bed

This consortium area aims to take leading edge hardware technology from different companies and integrate them. The integration is then tested in the synthetic test bed environment for effectiveness and functionality. In this area we will seek sponsorship from companies in networking, telecom and hardware industries.

New Age Solutions Test Bed

This research area strives for integration of software from different leading companies. The integration is then tested in the Simulation test bed environment. Partners supporting this area will be composed of companies in the software industry.

Emerging Business Models Test Bed

This consortium aspires the development of new business models and tools, based on results obtained from integrated hardware and software technologies. The new models and tools are also tested for validity in the simulation environment, as well. In order to conduct research in this area sponsorship from companies involved in defining and proposing new business models will be sought after. These will mainly include strategic consulting firms.
