GRADUATE INSTRUCTORS:

One of the easiest ways to improve your teaching (and presentation) skills is to receive constructive criticism from a person who has been exactly in your place.  With that in mind, KDSA has instituted a Graduate Peer Feedback program beginning August, 2006.  Experienced instructors who have garnered the praise of both their students and advisors are available to help you iron out the kinks in your teaching and help you perfect your classroom style, as well as increase your teaching evaluation scores.  This program is entirely voluntary on your part and discussions with your feedback mentor will remain confidential.

A brief outline of the program, if you would like to be a part of this:

1. You are paired up with an experienced graduate teaching mentor who has taught your subject and who received very good teaching evaluations.
2. The mentor sits in on one of your lectures and observes your teaching style and effectiveness.
3. You two discuss how you can improve your teaching styles.
4. If you want, the mentor can sit in on another lecture later on to check your progress.
5. You can request a different mentor to get another perspective on your teaching style.

If you would like to be a part of this program, please contact kdsa@purdue.edu. Make sure that you make your request 2-3 weeks in advance. If you have ideas, comments or questions about this program, please let us know.
