Installing and Using SAS

This document describes your options for installing and running SAS from your home.  Currently, there are four options for running SAS as a student.  They are:

  1. Install SAS on your computer with software from Stewart B-14 This installation takes up about 1GB of space on your hard drive.

  2. Install three other, smaller programs (SecureCRT, SecureFX, and Exceed) and run SAS over the network on Krannert's UNIX server or WRDS. Instructions for these installations can be found here

  3. Run SAS in labs 1, 2, or 3 on the 7th floor of Krannert

  4. Use the web to interface with WRDS and run SAS programs on their servers

To learn more about SAS we recommend working through some of the tutorials listed here
