 History of SMM

The Society of Minority Managers (SMM) was established in 1978 as a student organization in the Krannert School of Management.  It is comprised of minority business students as well as others with business related interests. The purpose of the Society is "to acquaint the minority management students at Purdue University with the needed role models, careers, and opportunities that exist in today's corporate society." In addition, SMM addressing matters which not only affect minorities, but the entire student body within the School of Management. One example is the SMM annual job fair.

At the dawn of the new millennium, SMM is now expanding to serve the needs of the entire Krannert School of Management community as well as minority management students.  One endeavor is the SMM annual job fair.  Finally, SMM is expanding its on campus presence to educate and expose Krannert students to the benefits of diversity.
