How to sign up for FS 470
(Important note: registration dates may vary from semester to semester. Registation usually starts
the first week of Module 2 & the
first week of Module 4)
- All student's need
to go to the Food Science Building to get signature approval to take
FS 470.
- Food Science will begin signing FORM 23's on October 13th.
- Students need to take completed registration forms signed by Joy
Dietz (FORM 23) with them to get the signatures.
- Students
also need to bring a driver's license or passport to verify they
are or will be 21 years of age by January 1, 2004.
- Students
can obtain signatures from one of the following beginning October
13th:
- Dr. Richard
Vine in FS 1261 on Monday or Tuesday
- Stacey
Dunderman in FS 2203 from 1-4:30pm M-F
- Linda
Webster in FS 1249 from 8am-noon M-F
- No one
will be available for signatures from noon to 1pm.
- Please understand that keeping accurate documentation that each student
in FS 470 is 21 years of age is necessary for legal reasons and this
is why the rules must be followed by everyone in the class. The limit
for the course is 300.
- I recommend that you take this course on a pass/fail basis. It will
NOT count toward your master's degree.

Course Information

Prerequisites: 21 years of age or older
Catalog description: A study of wine production and marketing principles with an emphasis
upon consumption responsability. Historical perspectives form the foundations
for wine classification systems and traditional serving procedures.
Cardinal scale sensory evaluations are conducted in relationship to
various food pairings.
