Thunderbird Case Competition
On March 22-23, 2007, a team of Krannert MBA students participated in the 2007 Thunderbird School of Global Management Case Competition on Sustainable Innovation. The Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises and the Global Supply Chain Management Initiative provided minor sponsorship for the Krannert team composed of Mark Albrecht, Susan Campbell, Jessica O’Leary, Jonathan Gortat, Steve Creel and Charles Jischke.
The competition focused on creating innovative solutions to real-world business challenges that reflect a commitment to economically, environmentally and socially sound business practices. In many ways this theme echoed the discussions that took place at the GSCMI spring conference, themed The Sustainable Global Supply Chain.
When asked about this link, managing director Mary Pilotte said, "It's really exciting to see students embrace topics which our centers bring to the forefront through conferences and speaker events. We are proud to see some of Krannert's best going out on a limb to test their learning, and we are proud to promote that behavior however we can.
In all, more than 85 teams representing 45 universities in 13 countries competed in the competition. The Krannert team, along with nine others, were selected to participate in the final competition in Phoenix, Az.
Purdue’s team made two presentations with distinctly global flavors. They crafted a future vision for Merck in India and discussed options for Johnson and Johnson providing Healthcare Solutions to the World.
