Second Year MBA Graduate Assistants - Academic Year 2007-2008

Daniel Brown graduated from the University of Waterloo in Canada with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2003. After graduation, Daniel worked as a corrosion engineer at Ontario Power Generation’s Darlington Nuclear Generating Station. As an undergrad he also interned in the automotive, and aerospace industries. Daniel plans to concentrate in Operations and Strategic Management while at Krannert.

Born and raised in Sal Salvador, El Salvador Marvin moved to Los Angeles at the age of 19 (1993). He resided there for 13 years and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. In 2002 Marvin graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor in Business administration and an emphasis on finance. From March 2003 to August 2006 he worked for a commercial real estate company, Swami International. His duties included Accounting and Finance activities. Marvin was promoted to Vice President of Accounting in 2005. Marvin is pursuing a focus on Finance and Operations at Krannert.

Mark graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Since graduation, he has held various roles in design engineering, testing, and machine maintenance. Before arriving at Purdue, Mark worked for John Deere’s construction and forestry division located in Dubuque, Iowa. Mark sat on the design team for motor graders, where he played an integral role in developing electrical systems for vehicle updates. Prior to John Deere, Mark worked for the North American operations of Magnet-Schultz, a global solenoid manufacturer based out of Memmingen, Germany.
Outside of work, Mark is an accomplished violinist. While an undergraduate student, he had the privilege to play with such groups as the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Prairie Ensemble, and Champaign-Urbana Symphony.
Currently, Mark is pursuing his MBA with concentrations in finance and operations.

Bin (Odien) Xu graduated from Shanghai University, China in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Polymer Engineering and Sciences. Odien then accepted a position with Techfields Biochem. He continued with Techfields until 2005, was promoted twice, and finished as a Product Supervisor.
Odien began his preparation for an American MBA by moving to Canada in 2005. At Krannert he is pursuing a focus on Operations and Marketing.
