 FAQ - Print Quota

In an effort to reduce waste and the abuse of printing resources, a University-wide print quota system was implemented in the summer of 2006. All faculty, staff and students have been provided with an allotment of free prints.

The practice of charging for printing has become increasingly common at colleges and universities. By combining free quotas with a cost recovery system for exceeding quotas, we can reduce the careless waste of paper but still provide sufficient access to free printing for students, faculty, and staff.

ITaP Quota

ITaP has implemented the Pharos Uniprint system which is described in detail at: http://www.itap.purdue.edu/tlt/announcements/printupdate.cfm

Pharos is an automated printing system that processes print requests and assesses a fee. Once your ITaP print quota is exhausted, a per-print fee is charged.

You will only be charged if you exhaust your allotment of free prints.  The ITaP print quota applies only to print jobs sent to ITaP managed printers (ITaP Labs). To check your ITaP available print quota and print history go to: https://www.purdue.edu/apps/ics/a/PrintHistory.

Krannert Quota

In addition to the ITaP print quota, Krannert has initiated an additional quota for print resources available only to Krannert students, faculty and staff. This provides Krannert students, faculty and staff additional printing that is not available to the rest of the University.

Current Krannert quotas are as follows:

Undergraduate students with MGMT/AGEC majors are allotted:

1000 pages/semester

Undergraduate students from other departments enrolled in MGMT/AGEC courses during current semester are allotted:

200 pages/semester

Krannert Master’s Programs are allotted:

1500 pages/semester

Krannert Doctoral Programs are allotted:

2000 pages/semester

Krannert quotas are separate from the print quotas allotted from the University by ITaP, that is, the use of your Krannert quota does not affect your ITaP quota, and vice versa.  The Krannert quota applies to all printers on the Krannert network and in the Krannert and Rawls labs.  They are semester based and do not roll-over from semester to semester.

To check your Krannert available print quota go to http://webapps.krannert.purdue.edu/, login with your Purdue career account, expand Personal, and click on My Services. Once your Krannert quota is exhausted, there is no per-print fee available to add to that allotment.

If you have questions or concerns about your Krannert quota, contact kcchelp@purdue.edu.
