Professional Bio:

Melissa Evens is trained and certified as a Corporate Etiquette and International Protocol Consultant by The Protocol School of Washington. The Protocol School of Washington is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training.

Ms. Evens is the Associate Director of Special Events at the Krannert School of Management, and serving as the Administrative Director for the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities. The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) offers cutting edge, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 veterans with disabilities resulting from their service to our country. This year, the Purdue program will run from October 25th to November 4th.

Ms. Evens creates and orchestrates special events and speakers' series, from on-campus events to alumni receptions around the world. One of her favorite speaker's series is the Krannert Executive Forum, where she schedules 13 diverse speakers every semester to engage and converse with our students. She schedules, coaches and does logistics for the speakers and serves as a "GPS" for them during their visits. All in all, she has coordinated more than 375 speaking engagements and numerous special events for the Dean's Office with the Krannert community.

Prior to Krannert, she worked with Purdue's procurement and was responsible for six-million dollars plus in food and equipment purchases along with managing vendor contracts.

Ms. Evens' hobbies include culinary and cultural adventures, garden parties, traveling, attending horse shows, reading, creating recipes, collecting cookbooks, growing sunflowers, and spending time with family.  She is a proud Purdue alum and enjoys living in a college community where she is involved in Toastmasters, the Tippecanoe Master Gardeners, 4-H, and she has the honor of serving on the Hanna Community Board.
