Professional Bio:

Ron Lascheveris an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Consumer Sciences & Retailing and Economics at Purdue University. His fields of interest are Labor Economics and Applied Econometrics. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University. His previous research examined how social networks affect labor market outcomes, such as the post-war employment outcomes of those drafted to serve together, and peer effects in the retirement timing decisions of school teachers. He also examines the effect of benchmarking and salary comparisons on executive compensation. He is currently using detailed data on job applicant and recruiter behavior to better understand how matches are made in two-sided markets, and using experimental methodology to explore how individuals negotiate differently in low and high-stake situations. His research has been funded by grants from the Center for Population Economics at the University of Chicago GSB, the NBER Retirement Research Center, and the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research.
