Richard A. Roski, MD, MSM, FAANS, FACS, is a Neurological Surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. He moved to Florida in 2010 to rebuild the Neurosurgery program at the Cleveland Clinic’s Florida location. He stepped down as the chairman of the department in 2016. He received his BS degree in Engineering Sciences from Purdue University in 1971 from the school of Aeronautical and Engineering Sciences. He received his MD degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1976 and he continued on at the University Hospitals of Cleveland for his surgical internship and Neurosurgical residency training. He subsequently received his MSM from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.
Dr. Roski started his professional career as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He subsequently moved into the private practice arena working in North Carolina and then started a Neurosurgical practice in Davenport, Iowa before finally moving to Florida. He has served in a variety of national Neurosurgery positions including serving as a guest examiner for the American Board of Neurological Surgery, a former Director on the board of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and a former President of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He has spent many years working in the area of surgical coding and reimbursement and taught the coding and reimbursement courses for the AANS as well as consulting in the areas of practice management and reimbursement. He has authored over 34 book chapters and peer reviewed journal articles.
