Accounting and Management
Amanda Hayes is beginning her junior year at Purdue University. She is pursuing degrees in both Accounting and Management, and she has a concentration in finance. She will graduate in the typical 4 years with the 150 credit hours necessary to sit for the CPA exam. Amanda works at Purdue’s Center for Career Opportunities as a Student Mentor/Second Year Ambassador where she helps critique students’ resumes and cover letters as well as presents on various topics to organizations on campus and classes. She also works at the Krannert Professional Development Center at Purdue. Besides work, Amanda holds leadership roles in both SMEF and the Purdue Accounting Association.
This past summer Amanda worked as a Federal Tax Intern at Crowe Horwath, a regional CPA firm. She was able to gain exposure to preparing state returns for various types of entities. Her previous experience includes an internship as a Client Service Intern at a small financial advising firm. She enjoys returning to her hometown job of almost four years at Dunkin’ Donuts to work during breaks. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys fitness, baking, reading, hiking, solving puzzles, and spending time with friends and family.
