Programs associated with over the last 3 years
Dr. Chaturvedi has effectively taught in Krannert's
Executive Education Program. During the 1996 summer
he taught a strategic MIS course in the Lucent/AT&T
program.
Dr. Chaturvedi is currently a core faculty in Center
for Agri-Business' AED
@ Purdue (agri-business executive development)
program. This program is designed for executives from
Novartis Corporation.
A corporate university company, Protential, has contracted
Dr. Chaturvedi to develop and teach courses on "Information
Systems Strategy" and "Information Systems Disaster
Recovery" for senior executives.
Advising, Counseling, and Recruiting Students
Dr. Chaturvedi is faculty advisor for Hindu Students
Council.
Dr. Chaturvedi has served on MSM and Ph.D. (MIS) admissions
committees for several years. He has actively worked
in attracting bright students to Krannert. He has also
worked with undergraduate advising office to attract
bright undergraduate students, e.g., he gave a presentation
during a Freshman Day on the Campus event.

Technology Initiatives
Dr. Chaturvedi has undertaken several technology initiatives
at Krannert. Some of his initiatives are discussed
below:
Synthetic Environments for Analysis
and Simulations.
Developed a distributed interactive simulation environment
that was used to offer Business courses both in MBA
core and electives. Portions of the project now funded
by Ameritech, Intel, SAP, IDA, and Microsoft.
Business Visualization Lab. Developed business visualization
lab—bringing virtual reality technology to Krannert.
Krannert is the only business school that has a virtual
reality lab and that offers a course on three-dimensional
data visualization.
Videoconferencing. Brought videoconferencing technology
to Krannert in 1993. Krannert was one of the first
business schools to use 2-way video for distance learning,
job interviews, and guest lectures.
Krannert’s World Wide Web Project. Initiated
Krannert’s WWW project in 1993, making Krannert
one of the first business schools with a significant
content on the Web. It was first to be rated the best
Business School Web site by Marr.
Krannert’s Enterprise Integration and SAP
R/3 Initiative. Initiated Krannert’s Enterprise Integration
efforts in 1993. Hewlett Packard and SAP America now
fund the project.
Public and/or Government Service Activities
Dr. Chaturvedi has been involved with several Department
of Defense projects. Some of the projects are discussed
below:
Did a study to assess of the Economic Feasibility
of DoD's High Level Architecture for Modeling and Simulation.
Designed the database and the user interface for DoD's
Synthetic Environments for National Security Estimates
(SENSE) project. This new war game environment is designed
to help several East European countries in their nation
building process to meet NATO's economic and defense
requirements.
Writing a white paper, "Acquisition of Software Intensive
Systems in the Age of Electronic Commerce, " to formulate
an electronic commerce based software acquisition policy
for the Office of the Secretary of Defense
Community Services Activities
Dr. Chaturvedi served on West Lafayette School Corporation's
information technology committee. He helped the corporation
develop its Internet access policy for middle and high
school students.
Dr. Chaturvedi is currently developing a version of
SEAS that can be used for teaching business and economics
to high school students.
Other Professional Activities
Conceived and directed Measured Response - Homeland Security Simulation at Purdue University. Organized MR 02, MR 03, and MR 04.
Member of a Virtual Institute for Advanced Modeling, involving eight research institutes world wide.
Organized the Workshop on Simulation Based Acquisition
at the Institute for Defense Analyses, November 19,

the Institute for Defense Analyses, July 23-24 1997,

Offered a number of courses on Client/Server Computing
and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design in Chicago,
Milwaukee, and Washington D.C.
"Client/Server Computing: Using Information Technology
Productively," a series of two-day workshops at
Siemen’s, Erlangan, Germany and at Bangalore,
Bombay, and New Delhi, India, July-August 1992.
Cluster Chair for Enterprise Integration Track for
