London’s history as an international financial center dates back 500 years ago and its development is attributed to Great Britain’s evolution as a leading trading nation and naval power. Since the late 20th century, London’s role as a global financial hub has expanded, and today, only New York’s financial sector is larger.
ESCP Europe, London campus will be our host for the week. Course work will focus on global financial markets and more specifically, London’s role as one of the leading financial centers of the world. Moving beyond the traditional classroom experience, students will gain hands-on experience in the BNP Paribas Trading Room, with three full days dedicated to conducting various financial market simulations. The week at ESCP’s London campus offers students the opportunity to understand the industry, get involved with practical sessions and gain vital information and useful insights into the global financial markets.
In addition to the classwork, students will be immersed in English culture. An organized tour of the city and metro pass are included for the week. To complement the course work and the cultural aspects of the week, a visit and tour of Oxford University along with a lecture focused on business by an Oxford professor will be organized for students. In addition, a tour of the London Stock Exchange will complement the focus of London’s role as one of the world’s financial capitals.
