These are exciting times at
Krannert. The new building across the street will confirm
our place in the ranks of the elite business schools.
The course offerings for the master's programs continue
to expand. The numerous student-run clubs are multiplying,
enriching the experience of all who participate. And,
we can be proud of our intramural championship-winning
A major role of the KGSA has
always been to promote social interaction among the students.
Rest assured, that mission will continue to be important
to us. This year we are looking to create more opportunities
for families to participate by having our social activities
in settings where spouses and children can feel comfortable.
We also helped Krannert international students experience
more of American culture by introducing them to one of
our true national treasures, Wrigley Field, as we attended
a Cubs game in September. Our planned diversity series
will also address the need of American students to better
understand international cultures as we look to enter
the global business world. We want to make sure there
is something for everyone.
We also need to help provide
for academic and professional enhancement. During our
discussions with the Dean's Advisory Council in April,
I think we all agreed on the benefits of bringing more
alumni into our classrooms as speakers. We will be seeking
to help the administration and faculty develop those
ideas in any way we can. Professional development stems
directly from clubs, which through our facilitation are
more closely coordinating their activities.
Opportunities for fun and
advancement seem endless this year. All of our plans
can only be helped by your participation. If you would
like to join us for one of our activities throughout
the year, or if you have ideas for things we can do in
your area, we would love to hear from you; please e-mail
