SMIF recognizes top stock picker

Baixiao Liu, MBA ’08, received the 2007 Stock Picker Graduate Award at the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) luncheon in April. Founded by Krannert Prof. Emeritus Keith Smith and funded primarily by Richard and Penelope Hansen, SMIF has won national recognition for its performance. Beginning with $100,000 seed money in 1998, students have grown the fund to $390,000 through investments. Joanne Widiger, a longtime SMIF supporter, sponsors the annual stock picker award.
