University honors three Krannert professors
The Purdue University Board of Trustees approved the following appointments for Krannert faculty members Kwei Tang, Mark Bagnoli, and Steve Green:
Tang, who serves as associate dean for programs and student services, was honored in April as the first recipient of the Allison and Nancy Schleicher Chair of Management. After earning his doctorate from Krannert in 1984, Tang joined the faculty of Louisiana State University. He returned to Krannert in 2000 as a professor in the quantitative methods area.
Tang has received numerous awards, including the Presidential Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Salgo Noren Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching, and a distinguished alumni award from National Chiao Tong University of Taiwan. He has served on editorial boards of several prestigious journals in management science and industrial engineering and has 64 refereed journal articles.
Bagnoli, a professor of economics, was named Olson Chair in Management in July. His research interests include analytic models of financial reporting, information economics and applied game theory, and empirical work in capital markets. He teaches tax strategy and financial statement analysis in the MBA program, and the managerial and financial analytical seminars in the accounting doctoral program.
Bagnoli, who has been at the Krannert School since 1999, has published in numerous accounting, finance, and economics journals and serves as an occasional reviewer for more than 30 others. His research has been cited in such publications as USA Today, BusinessWeek, U.S.News & World Report, CFO Magazine, and Bloomberg News.
Green, a professor in Krannert’s organizational behavior/human resources area, was named the Basil S. Turner Distinguished Professor of Management in May. He had been the Basil S. Turner Professor of Management since 2000. A member of the faculty since 1987, Green has been named to the Purdue Teaching Academy and Book of Great Teachers. He also has served as director of master’s programs and on Purdue’s graduate council.
Green’s research has been widely published and supported by the NSF, Department of Defense, Center for Innovation Management Studies, Center for International Business and Economic Research, and the Dauch Center for the Management of Manufacturing Enterprises.
