Faculty/Staff promotions and honors
Krannert congratulates the following faculty and staff for their achievements during the spring semester:
Herman C. Krannert Distinguished Professor of Management Wilbur “Bill” Lewellen, finance, was appointed as the ninth faculty fellow of TiasNimbas Business School, Krannert’s partner institution in the administration of its International Master’s in Management (IMM) program. The honor recognizes outstanding achievements in management research and executive education.
Emanuel T. Weiler Distinguished Professor of Management John McConnell, finance, was named a faculty fellow of the Financial Management Association in recognition of his significant contributions to the profession through scholarship.
Current master’s students and graduates within the last three years selected Prof. John Umbeck, economics, as the winner of the Salgo Noren Award for Excellence in Teaching. Umbeck also received the award in 2005 and 2006.
Padmapriya Rajagopalan, continuous term lecturer in economics, received Krannert’s Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher Award at the 2006–07 Purdue Honors Convocation.
At the same event, Basil S. Turner Distinguished Professor of Management Stephen G. Green, organizational behavior and human resources, was recognized with the Provost’s Award for Outstanding Faculty Mentors.
Profs. Jason Abrevaya, Gabriele Camera, and David L. Hummels, economics, were promoted to full professor.
Prof. Subramanian Balachander, marketing, and Prof. Deidra J. Schleicher, organizational behavior and human resources, were promoted to associate professor.
Prof. Govert Vroom, strategic management, Prof. Huseyin Gulen, finance, and Subramanian Balachander received John and Mary Willis Young Faculty Scholars awards, which recognize scholarly accomplishments in research and future potential.
Prof. Christine Jackson, organizational behavior and human resources, was the recipient of the Jay Ross Young Faculty Scholar Award, also given for research accomplishments and potential.
Sara Stein Koch was named director of Krannert’s undergraduate programs. She previously served in an interim capacity and continues her responsibilities as director of undergraduate recruiting and the Undergraduate Management Communication Center.
Darren L. Henry, MBA ’07, is the school’s new director of diversity initiatives. His responsibilities include the recruitment of underrepresented undergraduate and graduate students and faculty members.
