Center for E-Business Education
and Research (CEER) is offering
Krannert on e-Business and Technology:
2002 Anthology, an overview of
the best work of Krannert’s
MBA students on the subjects of
e-business and technology. A result
of the close and synergistic relationship
between students and faculty that
has been the hallmark of the Krannert
culture for many years, the piece
contains papers analyzing the
impact of technology and e-business
on a wide variety of industries
and predicting which emerging
technologies will most likely
affect industry in the near future.
The volume covers industries including
auto component suppliers, software
distribution, and technologies
like telematics and home automation.
CEER plans to publish the anthology
annually. For pricing information

In
Memoriam: Jeanne Wallace
Krannert regrets to report that Jeanne Wallace, 74, passed away
December 19. Master's students from the 1970s and '80s will remember
Wallace, who served both the master's office and the dean's office
with distinction for 20 years until her retirement in 1993. |

Krannert
begins MIS
Distinguished Speakers Series
Each
semester, the Krannert management information
services department invites a leader in the academic
area to campus to participate in the MIS Distinguished
Speakers Series. The series began last fall with
Prof. Ramayya (Ram) Krishnan, William W. and
Ruth F. Cooper Professor of Information Systems
at Carnegie-Mellon University, and continued
in the spring with Prof. Chris Kemerer, David
M. Roderick Chair in Information Systems at the
University of Pittsburgh. Besides their presentations,
speakers also have several informal meetings
with MIS faculty and students as well as other
individuals. |

As part of its Lilly Endowment Entrepreneurship Speakers Series,
the Burton
D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship invited cookie
mogul Wally Amos, founder of Famous Amos Cookies, to
speak last November. Amos, now a resident of Hawaii,
proudly displayed his lei as he entertained his audience
with his equally colorful character. Around 300 attended
the presentation.
