KRANNERT HAS RESTRUCTURED its academic programs into the departments of Economics and Management and appointed professors Jack Barron and Manu Kalwani to head the formalized areas.
“The Krannert faculty periodically reviews its constitution and makes changes based on what is best for the long-term success of the school,” says Dean Rick Cosier. “These areas had been informally labeled as departments for some time. A more formal organizational structure better serves faculty and students who have a direct link to the decision-makers in their academic areas.”
JACK BARRON, the Loeb Professor of Economics, has begun a three-year term as head of the Department of Economics. He joined the faculty at Purdue in 1975 and has served as a consultant to numerous agencies and firms, including the U.S. Department of Labor and the Small Business Administration.
Barron’s teaching interests include the economics of information and macroeconomics. His current research interests include various topics in labor economics and contract theory.
