I had an amazing experience studying abroad in both Paris and Madrid. For the first week, I was in Paris. Going to school at ESCP (a European business school) was a unique experience. We learned about how marketing works in different cultures. Our trips included taking a night tour of the city where we got to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle, a visit to the Orsay Museum, a tour of the Louis Vuitton store, and a day trip to the Champagne region to tour champagne houses and cellars. We finished off the week sightseeing the city while cruising down the river at night. In my free time I enjoyed seeing different places such as Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, and numerous museums and cathedrals. My favorite things to eat were the macaroons and the chocolate baguettes, and I enjoyed trying the different types of wine. I even tried escargot and liked it!
After Paris, I left for Madrid. We also went to school at ESCP here, and it was interesting to hear perspectives from different lecturers. Our trips here included a guided walking tour of the city, a visit to the Prado Museum, touring the Real Madrid soccer stadium, visiting BBVC (a financial group), and taking a day trip to Toledo to tour a winery and explore the city. We finished the week with a farewell dinner where we shared different tapas. In my free time here I saw the royal palace, explored the city, saw an Egyptian temple, and spent time trying different things at the indoor market. My favorite food and drink experience here was trying the different types of tapas and paellas and seeing how the wine in Madrid differed from the wine in Paris.
I’m so thankful to have gone on this trip with so many amazing people! I enjoyed getting to know my classmates better, and I’m happy to have shared this once-in-a-lifetime experience with them.
