This year, Krannert had six teams participating at the first round of the prestigious Wake Forest Marketing Analytics Case Competition. For the first round, the teams had to work on a mini-case about the carbonated soft-drink market. In addition, a two-minute team video had to be prepared. All Krannert teams showed a strong analysis in their case and creativity in their videos.
One of the Krannert teams made it to the next round. The team of Lukas Brenner, Tatsuhiko Daigo, Patrick Haslanger, Shane McGuire, Adam Ruri and Abby Schneider had to find a strategy of how grocery stores can increase the in-store usage of shopping apps. After spending hours of analyzing the market and customer needs and behavior they came up with a solid recommendation. After several presentation test-runs, the team was confident to compete in one of the toughest marketing challenges. Nevertheless, the ten hour drive to North Carolina was mainly used to work on every detail of the presentation!
The Krannert team was the first team to present. In the Graduate division the judges were all marketing executives with several years of experience in the business. After a flawless presentation the team had sufficient time to enjoy the great Wake Forest campus. At night at the Marketing Analytics Summit Gala all videos of the participating schools were showed and the finalists were announced. Despite their great work, the Krannert team did not make it to the finals. However, making it to the semi-finals and competing against other top b-schools shows the excellent work of our Krannert students.
The whole team wants to especially thank Teresa Sekine for joining them at this great experience and hopes that the success can be repeated next year!!
