Aakriti graduated with bachelor’s of engineering degree in electronics and communication from RV College of Engineering, India and then joined Cisco as a business analyst. Her college work included projects on design of biometric identification model using hand vein patterns, accelerometer operated wheelchair for quadriplegic patients, use of genetic algorithm and artificial neural network to capture the relationship between land use factors and landslides.
During her professional career, her main focus areas were cloud computing and user experience virtualization. Aakriti developed an algorithm to automate the process of migration of virtual machines from private to public cloud, which reduced the deployment time from a few weeks to a few hours. She designed interactive web and mobile prototypes to capture and validate the requirements of the stakeholders and optimize the requirement process. During the course of these projects, she realized the significance of data visualization in communication with stakeholders such as sponsors and clients. During her tenure at Cisco, she was exposed to the concept of “The Internet of Things”, which captured her interest. Aakriti decided to take her analytical mind to embark on the new and exciting data analytics realm, leading her to apply to the business analytics program at Krannert.
Aakriti looks forward to being proficient in advanced analytic models, methods, and tools in order to deliver data-driven knowledge that creates tangible business value for any company and helps them gain new insights about their customers.
