Doug graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southeast Missouri State University in 2017 with a degree in business economics. During his undergraduate studies, Doug attended the Latin American University of Science and Technology in Costa Rica for a semester abroad, where he studied international business and relations. While an undergrad he used statistical modeling to create a predictive model for countries’ trade deficits given certain international and domestic factors, which was later published in a student research journal. The summer before his senior year, Doug interned at AutoZone Inc., where he worked in both the finance and risk management departments.
During this time at AutoZone, Doug was exposed to risk and financial analytics, which sparked his interest in the profession. He has always had an interest in business strategy, and seeing how effective data analytics was towards enacting effective decision-making led to his decision to pursue a master’s degree in business analytics.
Following his graduation from the MS BAIM program in spring of 2018, Doug wishes to apply his analytical abilities and passion for international commerce towards a career in global supply chain analytics and international strategy. Using data-driven decision-making, he wants to assist companies in the globalization process, and drive the establishment and development of enterprises across the globe.
