She had also studied at the University of California, Berkeley in a research exchange program during that time. After graduation, Shenyang worked as an algorithm engineer intern in Zidea Robot Co. Ltd. in Harbin. Shenyang received her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA for Engineering Majors Student Certificate from Texas A&M University in 2016. During her study at Texas A&M Shenyang had her first experience in business while working as the cofounder of a startup, Unifitness Inc.. After graduating from Texas A&M, Shenyang worked as an intern consultant for Autospace Roland Berger in Shanghai, China.

During the time spent creating Unifitness , Shenyang was exposed to numerous challenging problems such as how to price a new product, how to reach most of the potential customers with minimum cost, and how to increase daily operating efficiency. As an engineer who follows a logical routine, she realized that there must be a methodology to making well-informed business decisions. Therefore, Shenyang decided to pursue a second Master of Science in Business Analytics at Krannert.

In addition to further honing her analytics skills, Shenyang is also looking forward to improving her communications and team player skills. Shenyang is passionate about letting the power of data analytics have a broader impact to benefit more people and companies in the future.
