Why should a prospective student choose the Krannert School of Management?

Krannert ranks among the best management schools in the country.  A Purdue MBA will separate you from other potential job candidates.

How would you describe the Weekend MBA faculty?

The faculty are professional.  Every class is taught by an experienced professor who is there to challenge you and to also help you fully understand the concepts that they are teaching.   They understand you are trying to balance your home life, work, and school so there is also a sense of respect from each professor.

Your classmates come from a variety of work backgrounds. What have you been able to learn from them?

Interacting with my classmates is definitely the most beneficial aspect of the program.  It is not very often you have a chance to network with over 40 working professionals who are all high-potential employees in their organizations.  Drawing on their work experiences and high level of professionalism is something that happens when we meet for class.

How has the Krannert helped develop your leadership skills?

I have developed confidence in my ability to become a successful manager.  Any time you add knowledge to your profession, I think you add confidence.  Learning the hard skills and the soft skills of being a manager has allowed grow.

Away from Krannert, what do you do for fun?

I love all kinds of sports.  Golf and basketball are sports that I still play.  I also love attending live sporting events, in particular Purdue Athletics and Major League Basebal (MLB) games.  I have been to 15 MLB stadiums so far and every vacation I take I try to pick out a new stadium to visit.

What do you like most about the Krannert School of Management and Purdue?

I grew up close to Purdue and have been a fan from day one.  It was always my dream to graduate from Purdue, which I did for my undergraduage degree in 2006. Having the opportunity to now receive my Purdue MBA is something I will forever be proud to accomplish.  Krannert offers everything I need to achieve my career goals and I am excited to see what the future hold for me.

When we catch-up with you in 10 years, what do you expect to be doing?

I want to be running a manufacturing facility.  I work for a great family-owned company and would love to continue to work there.  As far as a dream job, I would love to be the Chicago Cubs GM!  Go CUBS!
