What's the best out-of-classroom experience you've had at Purdue?
The best out-of-classroom experience I’ve had at Krannert is participating in different club events and getting to know my classmates and their families. One of my favorite events was when the Masters Volunteer Program put on a Trick-or-Treating event in Rawls and volunteers got to dress up and meet and entertain our classmate’s kids. It was a great opportunity to have fun outside of the classes.
How would you describe your program in one word and why?
Community. Krannert provides a sense of community across all different business schools focuses. Students feel connected with one another as well as with the faculty and staff. Yes, the program is challenging, innovative, competitive, forward-thinking, and a lot of other things, but overall, there is a great sense of community and support at Krannert.
Where is your favorite place to study on campus?
When the weather is nice, my favorite place to study on campus is the Purdue Memorial Union front porch. It’s close to Rawls and provides a chance to enjoy the outdoors. When it starts to get cooler or a rainy day, I love the third floor of Rawls. The big windows provide natural sunlight and a great view of campus.
What is the greatest challenge you've overcome in the program and how did it help you grow?
One of the greatest challenges I’ve overcome in the program is enhancing my time management skills during the first year. Juggling the internship search, business school courses, club involvement, and my 20-hour graduate assistantship definitely challenged and ultimately enhanced my ability to prioritize and manage my time most effectively.
How has Krannert helped you develop your leadership skills?
Krannert has developed my leadership skills by allowing me endless opportunities to get involved in various clubs and other avenues. There is never a shortage of experiences or positions that one can raise their hand for to continue to grow. Additionally, Krannert is a very global community. This provided me a new leadership lens, a fresh perspective, and a true understanding of the word “inclusive”. Being a part of our community has made me grow more confident in my ability to be successful in a global workforce.
