Krannert Summer Intern – Meet Demetrius

Demetrius Wilson
Tech MBA Intern, Bank of America
Charlotte, North Carolina
 Master's student in Rawls Hall

I am interning in the Quantitative Risk Technology group with the Global Markets & Risk Technology division of Bank of America’s Technology and Operations organization. My group is responsible for support a team of financial quantitative analysts who provide analysis and/or financial models for regulatory reporting and for providing direction to the board of directors and various lines of business on risk / reward scenarios.

I am responsible for making sure our group was compliant in some of the new enterprise data management policy standards that were recently implemented by the bank.

What are some outcomes the organization will have from your internship?

I was tasked with creating a service level agreement (SLA) template that will be the standard document used with the group want to exchange and share data with our business partners. The SLA is a document that legally says what data is share, the frequency rate in sharing the data, and the failures/impact if the SLA is breached. I was also tasked with creating a access request management (ARM) framework that will be used to capitalize our database / applications access level.

What has been your most meaningful internship experience?

My most meaningful experience was when our intern group rented two pontoon boats and spent the day on Lake Norman. Also, I had the opportunity to volunteer with the Autism Foundation of Carolinas.

How were you best prepared for your internship experience?

My previous background in the aerospace industry and my first-year at Krannert all contributed to my preparedness for Bank of America.

What has surprised you the most about your internship experience?

The size of the bank, the agile culture, and the importance of networking.
