Why should a prospective master's student choose the Krannert School?
"It is easy to see through the AACSB accredidation, school integrity and reputation, as well as rankings, that Krannert will provide students with a wonderful education. In addition to this, the school environment is a major factor that students should consider when choosing a master's program. The Krannert Family is a strong force made of students, faculty, staff, and administration that understand each other and work together to ensure everyone succeeds in whatever avenue they are pursuing. This strong bond and the relationships that are established here allow learning to go far beyond the classroom."
What extracurricular clubs are you in involved in at Krannert, and how have they contributed to your experience?
"During the first portion of my first year, I was involved in Krannert Graduate Student Association (KGSA) as an elected first-year representative. I was also elected as a first-year representative for our International Business Club (IBC). I continue to work with both of these organizations and am now have been elected to the position of Vice President of Events Management for KGSA and am working with the Executive Board of IBC as they begin planning for next year. I am also involved with Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), as well as National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA). I have also been fortunate enough to work with a variety of the clubs in Krannert through various events. By being involved, I have been able to get to know a majority of the students and faculty on a personal level outside the classroom. The knowledge and ideas they share with me from their various experiences has allowed me to not only to perform tasks for my organizational roles more proficiently, but also has allowed me to grow as a person."
How has Krannert helped in your job search?
"I am on somewhat of a different track, as I plan to pursue my Ph.D. immediately following my graduation from Krannert. Krannert has exposed me to many great faculty who have been more than willing to help me in this pursuit, as well as to other students who are working toward the same goal. Through the knowledge I have gained through classroom work, as well as from the relationships I have made, I am confident in my decision and plan in continuing my education."
How would you describe the Krannert faculty?
"The Krannert faculty are very knowledgable about thier areas of expertise and very excited to share their knowledge with students. They are open to class discussions and the posing of different ideas, as well as discussion outside of class. The faculty are very interested in getting to know students and helping them succeed, both within and outside of class. It is wonderful to see faculty out supporting students in various events, including sporting, social, and club events. They are really proud of Krannert and its students."
Your classmates come from a variety of work backgrounds...what have you been able to learn from them?
"It's been great to work with people from such a wide array of backgrounds; this is really helpful in teams where it is possible to share different types of knowledge and achieve greater results than we each would individually. Additionally, as everyone has come from so many different backgrounds and different companies, it is great to create a network of accomplished, intelligent people who come from around the world and will disperse across the world once we complete the program."
How has the diversity of the Krannert School enhanced your experience?
"The diversity at Krannert plays a central role in learning. With members of your team coming from all sides of the earth and all walks of life, it's hard to keep from learning more than just classwork. I have learned substantially from the people around me, which in turn allows me to learn more about myself and where I come from."
