Transcripts
One official transcript from each of the colleges and universities you have attended as a registered student, regardless of the number of courses taken, is required.
If your native language is not English, you must send both an official transcript in the language of instruction and a certified official English translation. If your degree is not shown as having been awarded directly on the transcript, then you must also provide a certified official copy of your diploma in the language of instruction and a certified official English translation.

Statement of Purpose
An essay concerning your purpose for seeking a Ph.D. degree, your reasons for wanting to study at Purdue University, and your research interests, along with your professional plans for the future. Submit your Statement of Purpose online when completing your online application. Please try to keep your statement of purpose to 4 pages or less.
Academic or Professional Recommendations
Two letters of recommendation are required. Your appraisers may submit online through your online application
Required Admissions Tests
Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) and the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) are required as follows:
- Economics applicants are required to take the Graduate Record Examinations test (GRE).
- Management applicants, any specialty, are required to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) exam.
- OBHR candidates can take either the GRE or GMAT exam.
The GRE and GMAT exams are administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Applicants are advised to take the test no later than December or January before the August admission date. An "official" score report for the GRE or GMAT must be sent from Educational Testing Services (ETS) to Purdue University.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language, or the TOEFL, must be taken by applicants whose native language is not English. The official score report for the TOEFL should be sent from Educational Testing Services (ETS) to Purdue University:

Minimum TOEFL iBT Scores for admission are as follows:
- Writing: 18
- Speaking: 18
- Listening: 14

Minimum PTE Academic Scores for admission are as follows:
- Overall :58
The Test of Written English (TWE) and the Test of Spoken English (TSE) are not a requirement for either admission or standard financial aid packages, including assistantships and fellowships. However, the TSE is required to be considered for awards that are based on teaching potential if an applicant's native language is not English.
Purdue University also accepts International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores. An overall score of 6.5 is required for admission.
