Applied Management Principles
A Condensed Management Program to Provide the Skills you Need
A growing number of high-performing employees are interested in the economic potential of their work, whether it is applied in existing industries or in entrepreneurial start-up ventures. While highly adept at their professions, many need an increased understanding of business beyond what they have learned on the job. To address that need, AMP provides a program to fit with participants' ongoing responsibilities and introduce them to the management topics they need. It takes a proactive approach by allowing new or aspiring managers and other advancing professionals to gain a deeper understanding of business while continuing their careers.
The seventeenth annual AMP program will be held June 2-13, 2014.
- Internationally recognized faculty members who make Krannert one of the world's top-ranked business schools
- Coursework in Accounting, Business Law, Change Management, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Leadership, Marketing, Operations, and Strategic Management
- Opportunity to earn 4.5 CEUs
Participants receive comprehensive class notes for each program segment, and may include pre-program reading assignments that prepare them for the in-class experience. Although there are no graded assignments or exams in the program, participants prepare readings, cases, problem sets, and related homework to bring out key ideas.
Participants gain the business insight to make more informed and substantive contributions to their organizations and their careers - both immediately and in the long term.
AMP has participants from various industries, as well as students in PhD programs. We recognize that the needs of industry participants may be distinct in some ways, and address those needs through our AMP Bookend sessions. In the pre-session, from 5-6pm on the Sunday prior to the first class, industry participants only will meet with a program director to discuss the objectives of the program and help participants develop their own personal goals and expectation for the 10 day program. On the final Friday of class, from 2-3pm industry participants will again gather to discuss an implementation plan to ensure learning transfer to the workplace.
Individuals and firms expressing interest or seeking more information and details about the AMP program should contact Cathy Garrison, Senior Program Manager, at 765-494-1554 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
