Weekend MBA Program Format
The program begins every January and spans six semesters over a three-year period. Class is held only in the spring and fall semesters, which allows the students to be off in the summer. Each semester, we conduct a total of 13 Saturday sessions of six in-class hours each on-campus. This schedule allows participants to complete the program in a total of 78 Saturdays over three years. See the schedule link for the full calendar of classes.
Instruction matches the contact-hour content of our Executive Master of Business Administration Program. Classes are taught by the faculty of the Krannert Graduate School of Management, as well as select visiting faculty members. All are senior-level professionals well-known for their research, who also bring practical experience working with business firms and governmental agencies in a variety of roles. All have participated extensively in executive education programs for business and industry and are accomplished instructors.
Additional Enhancement
Weekend students are permitted to enroll in up to six hours of non-core coursework in the fulltime MBA program while pursuing their Weekend MBA. This would depend on course availability and the completion of any necessary prerequisites. These courses cannot be used for degree completion--all core courses must be completed to earn the Weekend MBA degree.
Weekend graduates, as alumni, can enroll as post-baccalaureate students for up to 10 hours of courses. Again, this would depend on course availability and required prerequisites. Currently there is no differential fee.
The benefit of these policies is that Weekend students can take a total of 16 credits in the fulltime MBA program--six as a student and ten as an alum.
