Applied Management Principles (AMP): Results and Growth
Since its inception in 1998, over 600 participants have completed the Applied Management Principles program. Thanks to our initial funding from the Sloan and the National Science Foundations, primary constituents from Purdue have been the Schools of Science and Engineering. Participants have also attended from the Schools of Agriculture, Consumer and Family Sciences, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as the Krannert School of Management's multi-disciplinary Technology Transfer Initiative and Innovation Realization Lab.
And now, the program has expanded to include PhD students from other Big Ten/CIC schools and professionals from industry. Is it any wonder that the University Continuing Education Association has recognized AMP as a program that "blurs the boundaries between academe and industry."
As noted above, our plan for growing the AMP program is to increasingly add PhD student participants from other CIC/Big Ten institutions, as well as select participants from industry. We also desire to take even more condensed versions of the program to select metropolitan areas within the United States, in order to further serve participants from industry.
